I guess since even though Dirk has splintered selves due to being a Hero of Heart, they’re still *him* and affect all of him when something happens to any of him.

What I don’t understand is that,  when a Dreamself is awakened, the real self is put to sleep. Even for Dave, who was already awake just like Dirk (but due to being a Hero of Time, he couldn’t control both like his alternate bro), when Rose came over to him and “made him realize”, Dave still went to sleep.

So, I guess since Dirk is a Hero of Heart, it’s completely different for him? But, last time I checked, Nepeta (the other hero of heart) was asleep while her dreamself was awake… before being stabbed by Bec Noir and killed, but still. What makes this moment different? Was it because Dirk was forced to be KO’d, so both of him just kind of short-circuited out to unconsciousness? Not much of a theory as just questions I’ll wait to be answered by Hussie…
